As a child, it was hard growing up and not looking anything like the other kids at school.
Even my Japanese cousins (although 4 at the time) questioned why a white person was able to speak Japanese so fluently.
Over time, I grew to accept and appreciate my unique cultural background because it has made me the person I am today.
I’m proud to be the product of love that is blind to racial differences! Plus, getting to appreciate Japanese food and culture at home is something I’m proud of.
I am glad to meet another Japanese-German Eurasian or hapa. ;-)
