I am proud to be Hapa, and I am proud of all my heritages! My mom is German, Polish and French, while my dad is Irish and Japanese.
I got made fun of a lot in school being called “fake” and “fake Asian” because I don’t look full Asian. If I wasnt being made fun of for that, my name was being made fun of. I always tried not to let it get to me because a man once said “You be you and fuck everyone else, if they dont like you then fuck ’em, you don’t need them!”
I’ve followed that advice since I’ve been 13. I am proud to be me, and proud to be Japanese.
